Improve your Web Conversion Rate
January 25, 2010
Whenever a hit on your web site turns into purchasing customers, you have just witnessed a web conversion. In business, your goal is to achieve as high a conversion rate as possible.
There are various activities you can do to increase your business’s conversion rate on the Internet.
A static web site, while better than none, no longer holds viewers’ attention. Viewers want to be informed and entertained. An interactive web site allows companies to begin forming relationships with potential clients. That is why Social Media (Blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) are growing in popularity for business.
There are a lot of snake oil businesses on the Internet. Viewers also want the assurance that you are a professional legitimate business.
Here are three ideas to boost your web conversion rate:
- Show your human side – Consider adding podcasts (videos or audio clips) to your web site to give a “humanness” to your company’s branding. Data shows that consumers are more likely to make purchases from a company they know, trust, and like. Seeing and/or hearing your message will go a long way to that end.
- Get organized – We’ve all been to web sites that are confusing and where it is hard to find what you are looking for. The way your site is organized can make or break a sale. A well-designed site means people quickly find what they are looking for and stay longer… and that means potentially more sales in your pocket.
- Superior Images – Digital cameras have come a long way so you may be tempted to use your own photos on your site. Unless you are a photographer, we highly recommend not doing this. An amateur photo often may be seen as a direct reflection of an amateur or second-rate company. In business image is everything. Make “professional” your keyword.
